Americana Personal Shopper, Danielle Merollo, was in LA recently in support of a worthy cause. Simone I. Smith, friend of Americana Manhasset and wife of LL Cool J, is teaming up with the American Cancer Society to introduce “A Sweet Touch of Hope.” This stylish lollipop charm will help raise funds and awareness to help save more lives from cancer, a disease that affects everyone in some way. In 2004, Simone was diagnosed with stage III chondorosarcoma- a rare form of cancer. Her treatment required an invasive surgery that altered the appearance of her lollipop tattoo. “It literally looks like someone took a bite out of it,” says Simone. Inspired by her experience, the lollipop now represents Simone’s journey to getting well and staying well, and has sparked a desire to help other cancer survivors.
Check out the beautiful photos of Danielle modeling Simone’s jewelry on simoneismith.com… and while you’re at it, buy a lollipop charm to help fight cancer!

Americana Personal Shopper Danielle Merollo waiting for the Michael Kors show to begin!
Americana Manhasset’s Danielle Merollo, Director of Personal Shopping Services, rarely gets any down time. Dashing from one store to the next on behalf of her clients, Danielle is in constant motion. But even our gal about town needs to stop and rejuvenate every once in a while. She recently returned from a week-long retreat at The Ashram, located in the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains, where she pampered her spirit and revitalized her soul - sans pedicures by the pool! The Ashram program, a balance between simple spirituality and loving punishment, consists of days filled with yoga, hiking (a total of 65 miles by week’s end!), meditation and a raw foods diet, all aimed at creating a healthy union between mind, body and spirit. What was it like to climb Castro Peak, known as “Bull Dog” at The Ashram? “It is grueling and exhilarating at the same time. Half-way up you wish you never started, but when you reach the top you truly think you can fly!” Danielle was missed here at Americana, but rest assured that she has returned re-energized and ready to shop!
